As per the direction of Chief Minister Punjab, the task of vaccinating senior citizens against coronavirus has been started. For this purpose, vaccination centers have been made functional in all the four tehsils of the district:
- Tehsil Council Khanewal (Tehsil Khanewal)
- Municipal Committee Jahanian (Tehsil Jahanian)
- Boys Degree College Mian Channu (Tehsil Mian Channu)
- Old Assistant Commissioner House Kabirwala (Tehsil Kabirwala)
Deputy Commissioner Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi inaugurated the campaign by vaccinating the first senior citizen of Khanewal District. A special cake cutting ceremony also took place on the occasion. People aged 60 years and above will be vaccinated during this vaccination campaign. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner directed that all the necessary facilities have been provided at the vaccination centers as per the instructions of the Punjab Government. Vaccines are being administered free of cost on the instructions of the Chief Minister. Dr. Maria Mumtaz, CEO District Health Authority Khanewal and other health officials also attended the opening ceremony.
